Salaar | Movie Review

Power – Rulers have subjugated and acquired lands to validate their ever-increasing wealth, control, and fame. These power-hungry leaders, through their indomitable strength, have choreographed mass destruction in the name of politics, vengeance, and governance by unscrupulous means, weakening communities and leading to the loss of innocent lives. We hear of atrocities that the poor and the downtrodden have had to endure, perpetrated by the mighty who wield their dominance through implausible means, silencing the voices of the meek.

Movies encapsulate the crux of our creativity and give wings to our imagination. They exist as a realm of magical platforms where subliminal thoughts take form, weaving a narrative of fictional characters that personify the art of storytelling in its finest form. Cinema cannot be restrained, for it resonates beyond territories, states, countries, and borders. Its proclivity lies in connecting and providing answers to the most palpable and turbulent challenges that humanity experiences, for these issues stick out like a sore thumb and play a crucial part in shaping and influencing our lives.

The movie ‘Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire’ is a painstaking labour of love, vision, and intelligence, executed impeccably as art in its finest form. Kudos to the man at the helm who envisioned and brought to life a spectacle of a masterpiece that speaks volumes about the craft of storytelling, eliciting amazing performances from the entire cast and crew. The lucidity of each frame tells a story of technical finesse, depicting with utmost clarity the background setting of each shot that sets the tone and pace of what’s to come, thus captivating the audience’s minds. It was a surreal and immersive experience to watch this movie on screen; it can immediately transport one to the world of Khansaar, imbued with guts, glory, and blood.

I must confess that I was never a fan of South Indian movies; however, I admit that the art, intelligence of narration and execution of stories by our directors in the South is top-notch and very impressive. Kudos to Prasanth Neel for bringing to life the grandeur of this magnum opus and the filth that lies protruding in Khansaar’s belly with nuanced precision. I loved the action sequences, each frame was a vignette by itself that left me asking for more. What a movie!

Prithvi, you’ve beautifully portrayed the subtlety of your character and the myriad of inhibited emotions it goes through, showcasing them with panache. I can’t wait to see you unleash your wrath in the next part. Brilliant performance!

Prabhas, what talent! I’m in awe of how you nailed the character of Deva with restrained perfection; no one could have portrayed this character with such grace and elegance as you did. Your persona on screen is truly unmatched. I was glued to my seat from start to finish, eagerly anticipating your triumph over the despicable demonic forces. You’re a star, a remarkable performer, and I can’t wait to see Salaar – Part 2.

Phew! Just go and watch this movie at the theatre near you; it’s a massive blockbuster, and this piece of fiction deserves your attention! I loved this movie and would recommend it to everyone!
