Jawan | Movie Review

Intelligence is a plausible trait observed in people who exude integrity, knowledge, and wisdom through their countenance and skill sets. These individuals have the acumen, the capacity to create, develop, and demonstrate an art or body of work that is timeless and quintessential. There’s a distinctive method to their madness; they believe in being the anomaly to the mundane. I find intelligence very sexy and attractive. It’s always mind over matter for me, especially if it comes with the garb of an enigmatic personality and good looks – it’s icing on the cake! Who doesn’t like a complete package?

It’s difficult to churn out a piece of art that has the potential to touch every heart it connects with. For example, a well-prepared dish, which is not only delectable to look at but is also juicy and luscious to your palate. Food is a basic human need and has the ability to tap into the well-knit reservoir of memories within us, evoking a sense of déjà vu and of days gone by. That’s what Atlee has achieved with this colossal, epic, super blockbuster entertaining film ‘Jawan’. The narrative is superlative, for he has very aesthetically raised and addressed issues that our country is battling with, beautifully shot and captured on screen, the characters and their emotions impregnating the hearts of the audience; so relatable.

Who better than the King of Indian cinema, the pride of Bharat, to deliver one of his best performances on screen – the undisputed, formidable Shahrukh Khan. With this film, he has raised the bar notches higher. He is not the king anymore – he is the Emperor sitting safely on the throne and ruling the film fraternity today, and why not? He’s earned it, and he deserves it!

Goodness cannot prevail without evil. An equally sinister entity is required to create chaos, and from this tumultuous crucible arises the hero – the messiah for the underprivileged. The equanimity of negativity can be measured by the apt characterization of the villain, and who better than Vijay Sethupathi, a brilliant actor who flawlessly embodies the character with grace and sheer sophistication. The repartees and parlance between Shahrukh and Vijay Sethupathi nothing short of exceptional!

“TV pe Simba tha, yeh Mufasa hai. Jo TV pe tune dekha tha woh sher ka bacha tha, yeh khud sher hai.” The audience erupted with excitement as the real Vikram Rathod graced the screen – personally, I just couldn’t get enough of him, and ended up watching the very next show again only because of this character. Shahrukh, in his portrayal of Vikram Rathod, exudes style, swag, panache, and an attitude that is simply unparalleled. Kudos to all the talented artists and actors involved in this film. Without their unwavering dedication and support, this movie wouldn’t have achieved the mega-blockbuster status it enjoys today! A special round of applause to the VFX team for their outstanding work. This film is undoubtedly a triumph from start to finish!

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the movie right from the very beginning. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch!
