Shabd – A Poem

Imagine a world…. way beyond the reach of our sensory perception and cerebral intuition, beneath the shimmering canopy of the universe, thrive entities, inhabiting a dimension governed by an unseen intelligence, concealed far away from our mortal gaze they exist within the realm of exquisite design, empowered and entrusted by the Supreme Force.

They behold within the palm of their hands the indomitable energy of transcendence, beatific sounds that radiate power and profound purpose. They move with lightning speed in myriad colourful waves through the fabric of existence, bearing the sacred insignia of manifestation and breathing life into that which seeks form.

When these primordial  sounds converge, magic ensues, and from their union emerge words, a treasured force imbued with the ambrosial nectar of creation. Through them, the invisible finds expression, the intangible assumes form and  possibility blossoms into reality.

The mystics and the tales of yore have long recounted, through fables and folklore, the consequences that befall individuals and their families when impulsive decisions prevail over wisdom and discernment. Such actions often alter the very trajectory of their destinies, leaving an indelible imprint upon generations to come.

Words possess immense power, and one must exercise discernment in their utterance, as thoughtless speech invites misfortune and tends to perpetuate its effects across generations.

There’s a famous saying: “Count to ten before uttering a word.” Perhaps it arose from an awareness of the latent power hidden within language, the mystical charm it wields, and its capacity to bring about transformation through thought and action.

As a believer in magic and the transformative power of words, those timeless bearers of emotions and expressions, I have always sought to exercise discernment in my speech. I speak only when necessary or when I have something meaningful to share, and surround myself with kindred spirits, (my tribe), and embrace the freedom that such wisdom brings. Life becomes less burdened by complexity and turmoil, making room for cherished memories and meaningful connections.

I’ve been meaning to write a poem on Shabd – the Word, for quite some time now.  What began as a short poem eventually evolved into a much lengthier one. This poem is very close to my heart will be the first one in a continuing series.
