Homebound | Hindi Poem

Another one in the series of Hindi poems, originally conceived and written by me in English, inspired by the much loved, and critically acclaimed film Homebound, celebrated for its deep, lucid, and brilliantly conceived screenplay. The magnanimity of its plot, the deftly crafted characters, and the nuanced performances are impeccable, spot on in their ability to stir and move the audience through a crescendo of dormant emotions, precariously perched on the precipice of the unknown, under the artistic vision of Neeraj Ghaywan.

The film leaves one ruminating in the aftermath of witnessing the unwarranted ordeals of two best friends, entangled in the complex interplay of secularism, casteism and poverty.

It is, by far, one of my favourite movies of 2025, and it’s my earnest wish that this beautiful labour of love receives recognition it truly deserves, perhaps even at the Oscars.

Happy Diwali.
