All the world’s a stage
said Shakespeare!
Where each one of us
obediently performs duties
diligently plays the assigned part
that’s curated to perfection for us.
Some do it willingly
some are chided and put to task
like a game of charades
we wear numerous masks.
out of the various faces
which one is you? or
have you become the part?
the veil of illusion and her games
never depart.
Naivete bemoans us
senses plunge us headlong
into their vast unfathomable depths
their darkness shallow
that cries of pain and pleasure.
Succumbed have we willingly
to the web of lies
that deplores and governs our mind
the penultimate truth
reality we’ve hidden for so long
shrieks and wails aloud
waiting to be heard
cause reality is way beyond
what we experience
it’s nestled deep within our hearts.
